What is dry needling?
Using a very thin, sterile needle, treatment targets specific trigger points and areas of muscular tension to help release tight tissue, improve mobility, decrease pain, and restore more normal muscle function.
Dry needling can be especially helpful for:
Neck & Shoulder Tension
Release tight, overactive muscles contributing to chronic tension through the neck and shoulders.
Low Back & Hip Pain
Address trigger points and movement patterns contributing to persistent low back or hip discomfort.
Headaches & Muscular Tension
Target the muscular sources that frequently contribute to tension headaches.
Sports & Overuse Injuries
Support recovery from overuse and activity-related injuries with targeted treatment.
Muscle Tightness & Trigger Points
Release tight tissue and restore more normal muscle function.
Joint Pain & Movement Restrictions
Improve mobility where joint pain is limiting your range of motion.
Persistent Aches
For aches that haven't responded to stretching or massage alone.
Active Adult Recovery
Improve mobility and support recovery for an active lifestyle.
NOT ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL
Your session starts with an assessment, not a needle.
At Magnolia Physical Therapy, dry needling isn't a one-size-fits-all treatment. Your session begins with a physical therapy assessment to identify why you're hurting and which muscles or movement patterns may be contributing to the problem. Treatment is then tailored specifically to you and may combine dry needling with hands-on techniques, mobility work, and targeted exercise when appropriate.
